Sun TV launches Sun Life, Sun TV RI (Rest of India) and Gemini Life

Sun TV Network has launched three new pay channels from Monday -- Sun Life, Sun TV RI (Rest of India) in Tamil and Gemini Life in Telugu.

Sun Life and Gemini Life will focus on areas like lifestyle, religion, health and education, the Chennai-based broadcaster said. Sun TV RI will transmit the same content that goes on air on its flagship Sun TV channel, but the broadcast will be specialized for all states other than Tamil Nadu, allowing advertisers to focus on specific geographical areas.

The company now has 32 TV channels, which includes 12 in Tamil, nine in Telugu, seven in Kanada and four channels in Malayalam languages, Sun TV said.

Sun TV has been quite aggressive in launching new channels and pushing new content recently. Last week it launched four advertisement free action movie channels in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. In December, it had launched four high definition TV channels, three in Tamil and one in Telugu.

Sun TV shares were down 0.6% at Rs 276.65 on NSE in noon trade on Monday.

Sun TV Network launches 4 Ad free action movie channels from today

Sun TV Network Ltd has launched four Ad free action movie channels - Sun Action in Tamil, Gemini Action in Telugu, Suriyan TV in Kannada and Surya Action in Malayalam on January 04, 2012.

With this launch the company has entered into the "Ad free" pay channel world and also the new genre of "Action Movie" has been added to its existing genres of General Entertainment, Movies, Music, News, Kids and Comedy.

These will be the first of its kind 24 hours Ad free Action Movie Channels in India and are premier pay channels.

With this launch, the number of channels under Sun's bouquet moves up to 29 of which there are 10 channels in Tamil, 8 channels in Telugu, 7 channels in Kannada and 4 channels in Malayalam languages.

The Sun TV Network Ltd. stock was trading at Rs.284.90, down by Rs.3.45 or 1.20%. The stock hit an intraday high of Rs.286.50 and low of Rs.284.10.

The total traded quantity was 4116 compared to 2 week average of 89245.

Sun Direct added Sun Action, Gemini Action, Surya Action and Suriyan TV

Sun Direct has added four new channels on its platform. Presently all the four channels are in scrambled mode.

Sun Action on channel no.109

Gemini Action on channel no.159

Surya Action on channel no.205

Suriyan TV on channel no.259
